There is perhaps nothing more perplexing than realizing one day that you’ve lost yourself in this world. Every person is busy performing multiple roles throughout their life. To give an instance, people behave one way towards absolute strangers, another for acquaintances, another for their close friends, partner, and with their family. And then there comes the final role, which they completely forgot by the end. Being themselves. Yes! Being yourself is the ultimate role to find the purpose of your life.
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why”~ Mark Twain.
An excellent conjecture by Mark Twain who says that one of the most important days of life is the day you find out why are you here, in this life, in this place, in the shoes of yourself. It might seem vague now, because the truth from where the family you are born in, the streets you live in, the country where you reside, the name that you bear and your body are none of your choices. Rather they are given to you by birth, something which you are entitled to by your forefathers.
What’s your own thing other than these? What does it really mean to find your purpose in this life – find yourself? Does it mean where you physically are or what you mentally or psychologically are? Or does it relate to your surroundings and people who are all around you making the larger ensemble? Quite surprisingly, it is neither.
Life doesn’t really end with a meter-0 for everyone. A few people discern the meaning of life early and start living. And most of you need time to get out of this spurious world to get found yourself. It, in fact, Sometimes you have to fall apart in order to put the pieces back together and create someone even stronger, better than before, like trial and error at becoming the person you want to be. Mistakes are only mistakes if you learn nothing from them, try to find out solutions and hustle. Don’t be too comfortable with your life- Be like a shepherd, not a sheep.
No matter how many people are surrounded around you, but no one teaches you how to live “your own” life? it’s all up to you how you find your life and live it to the fullest. And here are a few ways to get found you.
#Accept yourself above all else.
Resolve to make peace with who you are so that you can start showing up for your own world. When you’re constantly overwhelmed by your insecurities, the light of your authentic self-does not shine; and, it’s that light that draws in every person, experience, and opportunity that aligns with your true happiness.
#Stop and listen.
Take pause every day to notice the inspirational signs and messages that might motivate you to move. Living with digital distractions, short attention spans, and over-packed schedules, you’ll have a hard time slowing down enough to recognize the signs all around you. Be more present with your surroundings and start paying attention to the small details of life — the signs on the road, what you are listening to, and each person you come in contact with throughout the day. Be mindful of the guidance around you to help you progress on your path. Stop and listen through, when you feel inspired.
Find the balance between 50% selflessness, and 50% selfishness. Take your “me” time, know when you need it, and learn how to give it to yourself. Figure out what energizes you, what makes you happy, how you connect to yourself.
Don’t sacrifice those things – put them first. In the end, you can’t rely on anyone but yourself to bring you true happiness so stop waiting for anything or anyone outside yourself to try and start being the vessel that helps you receives it.
#Perfect is not real.
Nothing’s perfect. Nobody is. Flawless doesn’t exist and it’s not even attractive. Someone trying to be perfect is hard to get close to because it’s not realistic. So, just relax. Everything we consider a flaw about ourselves someone else might find endearing. Just get real and let that lead the way.
Always remember the most valuable relationship you will have in life is the relationship that you have with yourself. Learning to trust your intuition and inner voice will help you go a long way in the process of getting found. As lost as you may feel right now, do something every day to try to find out who you are and what you want in life. Keep your mind open and pay attention to even the most insignificant opportunities that come your way. Try to enjoy the process of uncovering your new life rather than resisting this place of transition. Recognize that this is a vital and necessary part of life, and embrace it as a sacred journey. Unless you take control of yourself nothing is going to happen. Don’t let the world scare you. A wise person said that the world is filled with fake people. So most importantly get lost from that spurious world and get found in the reality.
